What are waist beads

Waist beads are a traditional  West African accessory that consist of small glass beads on a string or wire worn around the waist or hips. In west Africa, waist beads are symbol of femininity, fertility, sensuality and spiritual well-being… Its also wear to gauge weight changes, boost self confidence, self love  Most African men love to see their women in beads.

Who can wear waist beads?

Women of all sizes, shapes, races and ages can comfortably wear waist beads to adorn  their body. You do not need to be African to wear waist beads, nor do you have to wear waist beads for its traditional purposes. Wearing waist beads is a form of cultural appreciation, not  an appropriation. One month old babies can start wearing waist beads until they grow up to track their weight and shape their waist.

What color defines my goals

In West Africa, colors in the choice of waist beads does not mean anything, but you can choose your waist beads based on your belief.
